- Hello Zoë nice to talk with you. I really enjoyed the role you played of Delores in "I’ll Bury You Tomorrow" What was your inspiration to become an actress?
To me, acting is the most amazing job in the world. You get to experience anything and everything professionally and personally. By becoming an actor I didn't have to limit myself to one job - the possibilities are endless. New experiences, change, growth, and living ones life to the fullest are what inspires me. Acting provides this for me.
- Tell me a little about yourself?
I am a native New Yorker. Although I've traveled fairly extensively and was out of the city for college,New York remains my home. I have a Pilates studio in Brooklyn called, Absolute Brooklyn Pilates, and this helps support my acting habit. I was a Dance major in college and only started acting once I finished school. I studied (acting) with Catherine Gaffigan, a wonderful teacher, for close to two years before I went on a single audition.
I love what I do. I want more!
- Which acting role did you consider to be the most challenging?
Without question, thus far the most challenging role I've done was the
character Delores Finley in Alan Rowe Kelly's, "I'll Bury You Tomorrow."
Sociopaths are extremely complex. I filled in the holes of her history and tackled it layer by layer. I did as much research as I could and then did my best to walk in her shoes. It was exhausting. Delores never rests from her demons. She is forever haunted. Can you imagine?!
- What other films have you had an acting role in?
"Vulgar" and "Big Helium Dog"both executive produced by Kevin Smith and several student films both features and shorts. At this point in my career, for better or worse, you can see more of me on T.V. in commercials. If you blink, youmight miss me! So pay attention!
- Which scene in "I'll Bury You Tomorrow" was your favorite?
I have several! I will mention the chase and eventual death scene of Tina Clark, playedby Renee West.
It was cold and damp and we ran through the woods over and over. I was running as fast as I could and holding an ax. A real ax - not a prop! By the time we caught her (Renee) I was so ready to hack her into pieces! I was tired, angry and my adrenaline was pumping! It was a long, hard scene to shoot and all the emotions I needed were right there. Perfect. Perfectly sick. Hee -hee.
- Do you have an upcoming project coming up?
Yes, I am working with Alan Rowe Kelly once again this fall. We just completed a feature called the "Blood Shed" this summer and he already has another project lined up. Shooting for "A Far Cry From Home" will begin in September. Alan never rests and I am only happy to keep up with him. I'll take every opportunity to work withAlan - it's a pleasure.
I will also be acting in a film written and directed by Bart Mastronardi (the cinematographer on Blood Shed) this Fall. I am really looking forward to that as well!
- And of course, your favorite Horror film (s)?
"The Omen" - the original. Creepy, creepy, creepy. I also loved "The Others" with Nicole Kidman, spooky!
- The original "Omen" is one of my favorites also. Thank you again Zoë for taking the time to talk with me. Best wishes for your future endeavors and keep up the great work.
